These are a few of our recent accomplishments:

SIUE – Vadalabene Center
This 113,000 sf reroof consisted of replacing severely rusted metal decking, new flat stock and tapered insulation, a gypsum overlay board for foot traffic and fire rating, and a new 90 mil TPO membrane which was fully adhered on the majority of the multi-level project area. One discrete roof area required ballast to resist wind uplift where mechanical fastening was not feasible. All architectural sheet metal details were installed to ES-1 standards per building code.
BSI Constructors – City Garden
This urban oasis in the heart of downtown St Louis utilized low-maintenance, vegetated, green roof systems for the 1,400 sf cafe and maintenance buildings. As Certified Installers, careful coordination of custom grown vegetation and its delivery was critical. The specialized sedums and other plants were selected for the intended climate and require a minimum of 4 months of custom cultivation prior to delivery.

There are numerous benefits of green roofs in urban settings. Among them, the "Urban Heat Island Effect" is reduced, airborne particulates are filtered, energy usage for the building interiors is tempered, and rainwater capture limits stormwater runoff. Green roofs provide habitat for birds and beneficial insects.
Hazelwood School District – Maintenance Facility
Numerous problems plagued this existing metal building – leaks, condensation, and foot traffic damage. The new work included installation of perimeter wood blocking, rigid insulation, gypsum overlay board for foot traffic protection, a new TPO membrane, architectural sheetmetal detailing, and new skylights. The new, state-of-the-art system dramatically transformed the facility’s overall appearance.
Weingarten Realty Investors – Schnucks/Ballwin
This 23-yr old hot asphalt applied, 4-ply fiberglass Type VI felt membrane roof was installed by Lorenz when new and the original aluminum coating was in need of reapplication. Thus, we specified a modified bitumen, torch applied cap sheet and associated new flashings to achieve a 10-yr manufacturer’s warranty against roof leaks. This solution gives the owner trouble-free service of 10 years without undertaking an expensive total roof replacement.
